Committed to helping young people achieve
We have been busy

The last few weeks have been really busy, on the 18 March we held our second fundraising event at Eccles Masonic Hall, it was a Race Night with a Hotpot supper and we raised £500. It was a busy time with staff and volunteers working as cashiers for the evening and helping to ensure that everything went smoothly. There were eight races in all and each winning owner and jockey received a trophy that had been designed and produced by our Operations Manager Dave Eccleston, we had one trophy left at the end of the evening and that was auctioned and raised an additional £15. Every little helps in these times of cuts. Special thanks go to Christina Holt, Hazel Robinson, Julie King, Brenda Neale, Nadine Allen, Suzanne Bartlett and Jonathan Flynn (brave man working alongside all those females). A huge thank you to all who attended, the atmosphere was brilliant.

The 26th March saw us attending the NDC Celebration Event. Such a lot has happened as a result of the New Deal for Communities funding and we were happy to join in the celebrations. We had a really busy afternoon with the driving simulator and smoothie bike and hopefully encouraged more people to come and enjoy all the things we do here at GEARS+. Without NDC funding we wouldn't be here so we aim to keep the flag flying for a long time to come.
